Accident Cover is cover for emergency services. We cover your treatment for an accidental injury in a hospital emergency room. The coverage limit is R20,000 per incident per insured person. The buy-up option increases the limit to R30,000 per incident per insured person.
Accident Cover provides cover for accident hospitalisation. Accident hospitalisation means hospitalisation because of injuries caused by an accident. The coverage limit is R380,000 per incident and R1,500,000 per insured person per year. The buy-up option increases the limits to R1,500,000 per incident and R2,500,000 per insured person per year.
Accident Cover provides coverage for ambulance transport and stabilisation. You get ambulance transportation by Netcare 911 for trauma and accident emergencies. Netcare 911 will transport patients to a contracted hospital. Netcare 911 will also provide unlimited stabilisation at the scene of the accident.
Transport for a medical emergency is only provided to a state healthcare facility. If a patient purchases the buy-up option, we will transport them to a contracted hospital. This coverage benefit only covers road transport.
For children under 6, the payout is R20,000. For all other insured individuals, the payout is R25,000.
Total permanent disability is an injury preventing work capability. In the event of total permanent disability from an accident, we will pay a lump sum of R25,000. There is no coverage for insured parties under 17 years of age.
